How to Fix ServerHold Suspension for .IN Domains

If your .IN domain registered with Hosteasy is currently suspended with a serverHold status, it means the domain has been temporarily disabled by the .IN Registry (NIXI). This is usually due to missing, invalid, or unverified contact information provided at the time of registration.

Why is My Domain Suspended?
The .IN Registry, managed by NIXI, enforces mandatory verification policies for all .IN domain owners. If your contact details do not match official documents, or if KYC is not completed properly, your domain may be suspended and moved to serverHold status.

Steps to Reactivate Your .IN Domain

Please follow the below instructions to resolve this issue quickly:

Prepare Valid ID Documents

Have the necessary documents ready based on your location:

Indian Residents:
A Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, Passport, etc.) matching your domain contact name and address.

Non-Indian Residents: A valid passport copy, along with a declaration explaining your business or service connection to India.

Update Your Domain Contact Details via Hosteasy Panel

Log in to your Hosteasy Account.

Go to Orders > My Invoices and select the affected domain.

Update the Admin/Registrant contact details to match your documents.

Select the option Use for all domain contacts for consistency.

Check your email and verify the contact update request sent to your registered email ID.

Send Documents to NIXI

Once the contact details are updated, email your documents to the official .IN Registry at:s[email protected]

Include in your email:

Your domain name(s)

The updated WHOIS/contact details

Attached ID proof

(For foreign registrants) A brief declaration letter

What Happens Next?

NIXI will review and verify your submission.

Once approved, the serverHold status will be removed.

The domain will typically be reactivated within 2 to 5 business days.

Kindly note: While Hosteasy is here to guide and assist you throughout the process, the final verification and approval for reactivating a suspended .IN domain rests solely with the .IN Registry (NIXI).
